This notice explains how Gambia Adventures uses personal information provided through gambiaadventures.co.uk. Contact us at contactus@gambiaadventures.co.uk about your information or this notice.

Bookings and enquiries

When you book or contact us, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email, telephone number, billing address, booking dates, traveller numbers, selected services and messages. Required fields are identified on the form. We need the relevant booking and contact details to arrange and administer your booking, take payment and provide customer support.

Payments and service providers

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered through Stripe’s payment fields. Our booking records contain the payment reference, amount and payment status. See Stripe’s privacy policy for its handling of payment information.

Information needed to fulfil your booking may be shared with the relevant accommodation, tour, guide or transport provider. Trips and accommodation take place in The Gambia and, where stated in the itinerary, Senegal, so providing those services can involve sharing necessary booking details outside the UK. Hosting, email and payment providers also process information to operate the website and booking service. Contact us for information about the providers and arrangements relevant to your booking.

Why information is used

We use booking information to take steps you request before a booking and to perform the booking contract. We retain payment and booking records where necessary for our accounting and legal obligations. We also use relevant information for the legitimate interests of answering enquiries, protecting the website and dealing with disputes. Where we request consent for optional marketing, you can withdraw that consent by using the unsubscribe option or contacting us. Booking messages and payment updates are service communications.

How long records are kept

Retention depends on the purpose of the record, the booking and any outstanding payments, support requests or disputes, and applicable accounting or legal requirements. Contact us to ask about the records held for your booking or to request deletion where applicable.

Cookies and embedded content

The website uses cookies for functions such as the booking basket, checkout session and account login. Embedded content, including videos and maps, may communicate with the provider and is subject to that provider’s privacy information. You can manage cookies through your browser; blocking necessary cookies may prevent booking or account features from working.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy, and object to certain processing. You can object to direct marketing at any time. Contact contactus@gambiaadventures.co.uk to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing information. Some records may need to be retained for legal or accounting reasons.
